Your Wrestling video (highlights/skills)
What a strong wrestling reel contains, length, and what a coach actually wants to see.
A strong wrestling reel is real MATCH footage, not choreographed drilling. Coaches value live competition over a polished highlight cut.
Length: 3-5 minutes. Lead with full-match clips against your best opponents and label the opponent's level/ranking — that's how the coach calibrates your true level.
What to show (5-10 scored sequences):
- Clean takedown entries and finishes
- Scrambles won (transitions, danger positions)
- Top control: riding, turns; and in folkstyle, escapes/reversals from the bottom (par terre)
- A pin or tech if you have one
- Competitive positions and losses against elite opponents, not just blowout wins — the coach wants to see how you wrestle when it's tight
Include your weight class, year and a results/rankings summary.
European — key: the US coach wrestles folkstyle, a style trained almost nowhere outside the US. Your footage will be freestyle/Greco: that's fine, but show you can adapt — especially top control and bottom/mat wrestling, the steepest learning curve. Upload verified international footage (Europeans, age-group worlds) with links to UWW results; without your proactive send, your European results are invisible to them.
