Your Volleyball video (highlights/skills)

What a strong highlight reel and skills clip should contain by position, ideal length, and what coaches really want to see.

Your video is the first thing a coach opens. Make a 3-5 minute, recent, well-lit highlight reel with an intro card: name, jersey number, grad year, position, height, approach and block touch, club, GPA and contact. Lead with your best plays and make sure you're clearly identifiable by your number.

What to show by position:

  • Hitters (OH/OPP/MB): full approach, arm swing, kills against a real block, and serving zones/velocity.
  • Setters (S): hands, tempo and location, plus athletic plays.
  • Libero/DS: serve-receive platform, digs, footwork and free-ball passing.

Key: add a separate raw/skills clip (untrimmed game footage or measurable testing), because coaches distrust over-edited reels. Put the measurables on screen.

For Europeans this is decisive: since coaches rarely see you live, include full-match film links alongside the highlight, plus a metrics card (height, standing reach, approach/block touch and vertical in cm and inches — convert for the US coach). Name your club, league tier and federation. That turns your video into proof of level, not just a nice montage.
