Your Track & Field video (race/skills)

Track is recruited on verified results, not highlights. But a raw, verifiable clip of your race or attempt helps.

First, the headline: track is recruited on verified results, not highlights. A marks sheet or link (TFRRS, Power of 10, World Athletics profile, federation results) outweighs any video. Still, a good clip helps confirm technique and conditions.

What a strong video contains in this sport:

  • Full, unedited race or attempt, from a clear angle, with the meet name and date on screen and a visible clock/scoreboard.
  • Start and technique: blocks, hurdle clearance, jump approach, throw rotation.
  • For distance/XC: form at race pace and the finishing kick.
  • Make it clear the mark is FAT and, in sprints/jumps, wind-legal.

Golden rules:

  • Raw and verifiable beats produced. Coaches distrust over-edited clips: they want to confirm the time is electronic and conditions legal.
  • Short: show the event, not a long music montage.
  • Pair the video with the link to your official results so the coach can cross-check mark and conditions in seconds.

Bottom line: the video complements, it does not replace, your verified marks.
