Your Soccer video (highlights + skills)
3-6 minutes, ~20-25 clips, best first, always paired with full-match footage. The coach wants to see decision-making and off-the-ball movement, not just the touch.
The highlight is the hook; the full match is the proof. The coach wants to verify your level across 90 minutes, so always give access to full-match footage alongside the reel.
How to build the highlight:
- Length 3-6 min (NCSA cites 2-4 min as a strong minimum).
- ~20-25 game-action clips for field players.
- Best first: front-load your 3-4 strongest actions in the opening seconds.
- Include ~3 s before and ~3 s after each clip: the coach wants the decision and off-the-ball movement, not just the touch or goal.
- Identify yourself with a circle/arrow at the start of each clip.
- Vary the type: technical + tactical + physical + defensive work rate.
- Show actions against strong opposition (level is what's evaluated).
- Goalkeepers: separate saves and distribution/footwork categories.
Title card with: name, position, grad year, height, club/league, jersey number, GPA/test scores and contact info.
For a European: the reel opens the door, but your club/league and full-match footage at your level are what convince. Upload both and link the full match in the description.
