Your American Football video (highlights/skills)

What a Hudl highlight a coach watches to the end contains: length, order, and how to mark yourself.

The Hudl highlight is the primary evaluation tool. A coach decides in the first 30–60 seconds, so open with your 5–8 best plays. Length: 3–5 minutes max.

Rules that matter:

  • Identify yourself before EVERY play with an arrow, circle or spot-shadow; note jersey number and color.
  • Opening title card: full name, position, grad year, height/weight, GPA, test scores, contact, and verified measurables (40, bench, vertical).
  • Use full-speed game film, not just drills. Show plays against varied, quality opponents.
  • Avoid copyrighted or explicit music: many coaches mute audio, and explicit lyrics are a red flag.
  • Include a link to full game film so the coach can verify for himself.
  • Update every season.

For a European this is doubly critical: US coaches rarely see your games live, so the video + full film + verified combine numbers (NFL Academy, PPI, federation) are your proof of level. If you cross over from rugby or soccer (kickers, skill players, OL/DL with size), include that athletic profile: the crossover is a selling point in itself.
