Your realistic Wrestling list (reach / target / safe)

How to cross your level with each division's benchmark and build a 15-25 school list prioritising D2/NAIA/JUCO.

Build a 15-25 school list by crossing your true level (UWW results, ranking, weight-class fit) with each division's benchmark. Split it into three baskets:

BasketWhat it isFor a European
ReachYour level is below the typical benchmarkA few mid D1 if you have a U17/U20 European medal
TargetYour level matches the benchmarkD2 / NAIA where you're state-placer-equivalent or projectable
SafeYour level meets or beats the benchmarkJUCO (NJCAA) and NAIA needing to fill your weight

Prioritise D2 / NAIA / JUCO as realistic European paths. College wrestling is folkstyle, a style you don't train; JUCO offers numerically the most aid (~20 scholarships) and is the classic bridge to adapt and sort academics before transferring to D1/D2.

Distribute by weight need: a coach recruits to fill a specific lineup weight. Map your kg weight to the nearest lb class and prioritise schools with an opening at your weight — there a roster need can outweigh your ranking.

Women's: widen the list. With the field expanding rapidly, your same level opens more and better-funded doors than men's.

Before finalising: verify each school's opt-in status and actual funding, and your NCAA eligibility (Eligibility Center, transcripts, amateurism, TOEFL/Duolingo).
