Your realistic Lacrosse list (reach / target / safe)

Cross your level (position, ranking, events, stats) with each division's benchmark and build 15-25 schools, prioritising D2/NAIA/JUCO as realistic European paths.

Build a 15-25 school list by crossing your level with each division's benchmark. Since lacrosse has no stopwatch marks, your "level" is read from: position, ranking (IL / ILWomen Power 100), national-team/pathway selection, European results and live performance at IMLCA/IWLCA events.

Split the list into three bands:

BandWhat it isHow to choose
Reachabove your current levelD1 top-25 only if you already shine at premium events and are ranked
Targetmatched to your levelmid/low D1, D2 and NAIA where your profile fits
Safecomfortable marginsolid D2/NAIA, D3 (no aid, largest pool) and JUCO as a bridge

Why prioritise D2/NAIA/JUCO as a European:

  • Less restrictive contact rules (NAIA has no timing limit; D2 contact almost anytime).
  • House roster caps (48 men / 38 women) and DSA cuts leave fringe internationals most exposed in D1; fewer walk-on slots.
  • JUCO is a recognized bridge to gain development, clarify eligibility or qualify academically before transferring to a 4-year program.

European action: since coaches can't initiate contact until Sept 1 of junior year, you/your family drive the outreach and get seen live in the U.S.
