Your realistic Baseball list (reach / target / safe)
Cross your verified marks with each division's benchmark and build a 15-25 school list. For a European, prioritise D2/NAIA/JUCO.
Build a 15-25 school list by crossing your verified marks (60, exit/throwing velo, fastball, pop time) against each division's benchmark from the CV lesson.
How to bucket each school:
- Reach (3-6): your marks sit below the typical level but you project. For a European, D1 almost always lands here.
- Target (7-12): your marks match that division/position range. Most of your list belongs here.
- Safe (4-7): you're above the benchmark; you fit with margin.
For a European, prioritise D2 / NAIA / JUCO as the realistic path. The trimmed 34-man D1 roster cut spots for borderline recruits and pushes them toward these divisions, where roster room and partial aid are more accessible. JUCO is a common route: development, easier roster entry and draft eligibility; many Europeans go through it first or commit directly to D2/NAIA.
Golden rules:
- Be honest about your marks: an inflated D1-only list is the #1 reason recruits end up with nothing.
- Cross by position (a 60 means different things for an OF vs a catcher).
- Filter also by academics/admissions and whether the school opted into the House settlement.
- Split: ~25% reach, ~50% target, ~25% safe.
Better 20 well-chosen, well-contacted schools than 60 generic emails.
