When a coach can contact you (Volleyball)

The date that matters: in D1 a coach may initiate personal contact (calls, texts, emails, DMs and verbal offers) starting June 15 after your sophomore year (10th grade). It's the same date for women's and men's. Before that day they can only send you generic NCAA material or camp brochures.

Crucial in volleyball: off-campus contact and ALL visits (official and unofficial) don't open until August 1 before your junior year (11th grade) — about 6 weeks later than calls. It's a sharper split than in some other sports.

Key windows:

• Anytime: educational material / camp invites (not personal recruiting).
• Jun 15 after 10th: calls, texts, DMs and verbal offers open (non-binding).
• Aug 1 before 11th: visits open (max 5 official D1, one per school) and off-campus contact.
• Fall: contact period (approx. Sept-Nov, with dead periods); spring has specific March-May windows tied to the club calendar — they shift yearly, verify the official PDF.

Signing: the old National Letter of Intent was retired (2024); you now sign the university's financial-aid agreement (binding when signed). And remember: you can always reach out first to the coach, at any time.
