When a coach can contact you (Baseball)
In D1, personal contact opens August 1 of junior year. It is NOT the golf rule. You can always reach out first.

D1 rule (key): a D1 baseball coach may initiate personal contact (calls, texts, emails, materials, social DMs) on August 1 before/at the start of junior year (11th grade). Before that date, no coach-initiated contact.
Important: this is NOT the golf rule. Golf opens June 15 after sophomore year; baseball opens later and on a different trigger: August 1 of junior year. Your communication clock starts over a year later than a golfer's. It's men-only (no NCAA women's baseball), so there's no men/women difference.

Note: D2 opens earlier (June 15 before junior year). The NLI program ended in 2024: you now sign a "Written Offer of Athletics Aid."
Most important: YOU can always reach out first. Before August 1 you can call/email coaches yourself (and they may reply via limited channels). As a European, plan your US-visible events (PG/PBR showcases, MLB European Development Tournament, national team) for the summer of/before junior year. Verify exact NCAA calendar dates each cycle: contact/quiet/dead periods change.
