What a Spanish athlete needs to be NCAA-eligible, flagging blockers (🔴) vs important/recommended.

Tick each item as you complete it. 🔴 = blocker (no competing without it). The binding authority is the NCAA Eligibility Center; this is orientation only.
Checklist
NCAA Eligibility Center registration (Certification Account)
Profile Account is not enough for D1/D2.
16 core courses completed
NCAA-required core academic courses.
Core GPA minimum (D1 = 2.3 · D2 = 2.2)
On the 4.0 scale, per the official Spain table.
Valid proof of graduation (Título de Bachiller)
The ESO certificate is NOT valid.
Year 9-12 transcript (original language)
Official report cards in Spanish/Catalan.
Certified line-by-line English translation
By a qualified translator unrelated to athlete or school.
Final amateurism certification
Required before competing; especially sensitive in sports with cash prizes (e.g. golf, tennis).
English test (TOEFL / IELTS / Duolingo)
Required by the university (admission), not the NCAA. Threshold varies.
Send documents through a valid channel
Upload by the school or email from an official school address; no Gmail/Hotmail.
Admission to a D1/D2 university
NCAA eligibility is separate from admission.
SAT/ACT (only if the university requires it)
Not required by the NCAA since 2023; some universities require them for admission/aid.
